In cooperation with the Board members and after long talks with “Rotary Club Nancy St Nicolas de Port” President Maryse, Pierre and his organizing team, we –Fellowship Cycling to Serve and RC Nancy St Nicolas de Port- have decided to cancel our 2020 World Championships.
We have agreed to postpone the Nancy Championships to 2021 (28th Aug. to be confirmed). After cancelling the 4-days in Lörrach, it’s a new painful decision to make. Health security conditions are more than random to take risks. We welcome this painful and difficult decision, but it is wise. Thanks Nancy St Nicolas de Port for the great job and energy they spent to organize those championships.
We still remain in the midst of a total doubt as for the realization of our upcoming projects. Everything is ready in Nancy to organize the event, but the vagueness maintained by the authorities, (French and European) does not make it possible today to ensure the possibility of administratively organizing an event which requires border crossings with total peace of mind, available accommodations, the holding of a gala dinner in a public place, etc.
We do know that each of you will understand this decision we made with a heavy heart.
