39th Rotary international Cycling Championship 2024

Registration for the 39th International Rotary Championship Brakel 2024 is now open!

RC Brakel – Zwalmvallei has a proud history in this championship, having crowned a Rotary world champion in each of the past three editions. This experience gives us a unique insight into the challenges and victories that define this esteemed event.

As we prepare for another exciting year of competition, we invite you to join us in celebrating the camaraderie and sportsmanship that the Rotary Cycling World Championship stands for.

Dear Rotary friends,
This is the latest update for our Rotary Cycling Championship on Saturday 24/08/2024.
The programme was adjusted at the request of some members from +65 and is as follows:
9 – 10 am: ride of friendship (everyone is free to explore the course)
10 – 11 am: 2 rides for the G cyclists (with mental disabilities)
11:15 am: +65, lap 2.2km for 30 minutes and 1 extra lap
12:30 pm: Ladies, lap 2.2km for 30 minutes and 1 extra lap
14:00 pm: +55, lap 2.2km for 45 minutes and 1 extra lap
15:15 pm: -55, lap 2.2km for 1 hour and 1 extra lap
Registration riders:
+55: 32 (+65 included)
18 to 55: 14
Ladies: 9
Sunday 25/08/2024: 9 riders and 2 companions from Rotary Brakel-Zwalmvallei with departure at 9 am at café Liberty Marktplein 9 in Brakel.
Monday 26/08/2024: Second Cycling ride of friendship, organised by Danny Hellings, with departure at 9 am at the parking of Hotel Leopold, De Ham 14 Oudenaarde.
Dinner registrations:
Friday 23/08/2024 at 7pm there are 60 entries for pasta or cold fish dish in event hall De Vierklaver.
Saturday evening at 7pm there are 170 registrations for the Cycling dinner in hall Averbo. There is ample parking near both venues.
Menu Cyclingdiner:
Welcome: Aperitif with 3 bites on a waiting plate
Starter: Salmon Gravad Lax
Main course: Iberico back – southern mash – grilled vegetables and cabbage lettuce
Dessert: Dame Blanche
Coffee
The meals are accompanied by excellent Italian wines.
